Mock Job Interview Reflection

How did you feel while you interviewed a classmate?  Do you believe that seeing an interview from the employer’s perspective makes you more prepared or not?  Please explain. While I felt nervous, I also felt more confident because it was a classmate that I had known because they’ve been in the class the whole year.

How did you feel while you were interviewed by a classmate?  Did you feel anxious, nervous, scared, prepared, overwhelmed, confident, etc.?  Please explain why you felt that way. While nervous because I hadn’t prepared for the questions at all, I still felt more confident than I would with an actual interview.

How do you feel about your responses?  Do you think your responses to the questions were adequate or do you feel you could have done better? What question did you find easy?  What question did you find difficult to answer? The questions that I found difficult to answer were the ones asking about motivation, I could’ve responded better with them but I believe I responded well enough.

What advice would you give someone who is participating in a mock interview or a real interview? What advice would you give yourself; in other words, how do you think you could improve for your real interview? Stay confident, say stalling words less, and be more prepared for the questions to come.

Yes, I know these mock interviews weren’t real, so imagine how you would perform in the interview if it was real.  What have you learned you need to do to be better prepared?  How should you dress for an interview?  How should you behave before, during, and after an interview?  What should you bring with you to an interview? One should dress appropriately, get a resume together, behave confidently yet humbly.

Evaluate the activity.  Be honest.  What do you think was good about this class activity?  How do you think we could improve this activity for next time, next year? Do you believe this is a skill you do need or do not need in real life?  Please explain. It was a decent activity, but all the talking had made it hard to hear my interviewer/ee. This activity could provide life skills for those that haven’t had any job experiences though.

Take one of the 20 interview questions below and write a response that would be GOOD and one that would be BAD, then explain the difference with reasoning. It’s always good to practice job interview questions so that you become more and more comfortable. Question: When required, would you be willing to work overtime? Bad response: Yes. Good Response: Yes, I’d be willing to work overtime to better advance my position in the company and the company itself. The bad response is bad because they hadn’t elaborated at all for the response, while the good response is such because they had elaborated on their answer.

Job Shadowing Reflection

What did you learn from your presentation? I learned that it’s fairly easy to put together a 20 slide presentation without doing the required activity within a 2 days.

How well do you think you did on your presentation? I think I did pretty well considering I had filled 8 slides with pictures and still got an 93.5%.

What are some presentation techniques that can you incorporate into your next presentation? Staying loud, enunciating my words better, and keeping most people’s attention on the presentation.

What if anything, could you have done differently to change the outcome of your presentation? Have worked on it for a longer period of time.

Finish the following statements:

I wish that I would have actually job shadowed on time to get full points.

If I could present my presentation again I wouldn’t stutter so many times.

Now that I have reflected on my presentation, I will attempt better on my next presentation for whatever class it may be.

Social Issue Research Topic

What is your social issue? Should there be internet censorship in the US.

Why is it such a social issue? What do people disagree about in relation to this topic? Such is a social issue because of the fact that it a violation of the 1st amendment right of US citizens. Many disagree about how censorship may make the internet safer for younger generations to browse the internet.

What is your proposed solution? Why do you think this is the best solution? My proposed solution is to allow harder internet censorships on children’s versions of internet apps, that parents may download for their kids. I believe that such is the best solution because it allows children to browse the internet safely because of the kids version censorships put in place, while allowing teens and adults to browse uncensored version of those apps, keeping their freedoms online.

What are pros to your solution? Pros to the solution are that it allows for adults to use the internet with completely uncensored accesses throughout. Meanwhile, children can still browse the internet, but on a censored and, therefore, safer version of the internet.

What are cons to your solution? Cons to such a solution would be that computer access, which doesn’t use a dedicated app, wouldn’t be censored like the kids version of an app. Another con would be that such a solution adds an extra step to the censoring campaign, making it a bit more over-complicated than other solutions. One other con would be that tech savvy children would be able to download the uncensored app in thee parents don’t have the account for the device set up with parents’ permission required.

Any questions to your audience members for help on your topic?

–  How do you see such a solution playing out in the real world?
–  Would you prefer such a solution to censorship being put in place?

Social Issues within the United States

In a majority of states, the death penalty is still used. When polled, a majority (11,643,337 people, 71%) had voted that they had supported the death penalty. Reasons for supporting such may reside in personal experiences. Some of the supporters (11% of supporters) had said that the death penalty should only be used if the crime is heinous enough and the evidence is undeniable. One may support the death penalty because of the amount that it costs to put someone through life in prison; housing a prisoner for 40 years in a Texan prison costs $693,500, all payed from taxpayers. Meanwhile, the minority (4,660,083 people, 29%) had said that they didn’t support the death penalty. Reasons for not supporting the death penalty may reside in the innocent victim mortality rate. Only a few (3% of non-supporters) people believe that spending life in prison is harsher than the death penalty. One may not support the death penalty because a case ending with a death penalty cost $1.26 million from taxpayers. Another reason one wouldn’t support the death penalty is because 4.1% of people put on death row and executed are innocent. Meanwhile 1.6% of people put on death row and executed are guilty. Along with these percentages, a study claims that for every 25 people executed, one of them is innocent. Such means that if everyone in the US was put on the death penalty, 81,077,503 people would be innocent.

Wordle Post

This is my Wordle, it contains words like kind, helpful, selfless. Just some basic words to kindly describe oneself without sounding too self-centered. It also contains words like businessman and entrepreneur, words that describe my odd skills in the business world that I’ve seemed to have developed. Such words correlate with the fact that the words shape a money sign, as to further allude to my knack for the business world.
